Accommodation
When you arrive at the university's campus, you’ll be thrust into a busy environment – full of new experiences and new people. Where you decide to live is important because it will be a place where you can study, eat, sleep, socialise and even escape to should you feel the need. Many older students prefer to live in privately rented accommodation.
The University of New York Tirana is aiming to provide suitable accommodation for its students, mainly during their first year here, during which they will be getting used to a new environment and making new friends. With this in mind, UNYT offers a restricted accommodation scheme. Two spacious university accommodation buildings at close vicinity to the university’s campus can host up to 18 male students and 12 female students in rooms of two or three students. There are shared bathrooms at each floor, but no kitchen facilities (with the exception of a shared refrigerator), while every student has their own single, study space. All the apartments are furnished with studying and sleeping furniture, as well as heating appliances. Both buildings are located nearby local convenience stores or supermarkets. Residents are able to stay during the Christmas, Easter and summer vacations.
The 2008/09 academic year fee for university accommodation is 70 Euro per month per person. The rent figure excludes water and electricity rates, which are covered by the students themselves. All university's shared apartments meet Electrical Safety standards.
We further offer a range of services meeting your catering needs, whether you are a student or member of staff. There is one catering unit at close vicinity to the campus providing three ordinary meals per day for 2.5 Euro per meal per person, or for 6 Euro per day per person (three meals).
Last but not least, limited parking space is available to students at the university's campus. The parking lot is fenced and protected by 24 hour surveillance.
