Dr. BIBA, Marenglen, Assistant Professor 
Ph.D. in Computer Science, University of Bari, Italy; Laurea Degree (5 years degree) Cum Laude in Computer Science, University of Bari, Italy. 
Dr. Biba has taught several courses of Computer Science at the University of Bari. His main research area is Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He has published over thirty papers in international journal, volumes and conference proceedings. He has served as a reviewer for many important conferences such as ECML, IJCAI, ECAI, KDD, ICPR, ICDAR and for international journals such as Neurocomputing, Neural Networks and International Journal on Knowledge and Information Systems. He has released several software packages for Artificial Intelligence such as INTHELEX, DOMINUS, MLN++, PHYLIROTS, DISCRET and GENEPROF. In 2008 his work on integrating logic and probability won the Best Paper Award at 18th International Conference in Inductive Logic Programming, Prague, sponsored by Machine Learning Journal, Springer, New York. He is active member of IEEE - Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; IEEE Computer Society; ACM - Association for Computing Machinery; ALP - Association for Logic Programming; CINI - Italian National Consortium for Computer Science. He is in the organizing committee of BIO-LOGICAL 2009 - Logic-based approaches in Bioinformatics. In 2007 he was visiting researcher at the Computer Science and Engineering Department, University of Washington, Seattle. Dr. Biba has participated in several European and national research projects on Digital Libraries, Complex Data Analysis, Data Mining and Bioinformatics. He is active member of the LACAM laboratory and participates in the MBLab initiative jointly with IBM Italy. He has also industrial experience in the development and customization of Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
