Career Office Mission
The Career Office (CO) was built to expand on one of UNYT’s global mission statements, which is to prepare the students for life as contributing, productive citizens of the global community.
The CO is committed to helping students and graduates define and achieve their career goals through programs and workshops (such as Internship program, Business Ethics workshop), soft skills development (such as CV and cover letter writing skills and advice), one-on-one career coaching, career matchmaking and events, and access to an online-career library.
Services for Employers / Recruiters
If you are looking to explore recruitment opportunities amongst our network of internationally educated students and graduates, our Career Office invites you to get in touch. Together we can explore ways to promote your company, meet our students and match your vacancies to our qualified students / graduates.
We offer you the following services:
• The opportunity to connect with our full-time BA / BSc. and executive MBA students who could be of added value to your company in the form of an Internship, volunteer service, or job vacancy [UNYT Success Stories];
• The opportunity to advertise an internship, volunteer project, or job opportunity on our student intranet. Please download our standard vacancy form here, and send a completed version to our Dean of Student Affairs Mrs. Elona Garo. You will find your opportunity published within 48 hrs;
• Access to an online student CV-Book, allowing you to find a perfect match for vacancies available at your company or institution;
• Immediate contact with the UNYT Career Centre for specific requests.
Internships
Creating internship opportunities for university students will allow businesses, government and other institutions to see aspiring talent in action. These agencies will have the opportunity to participate in the further development of UNYT students through mentoring and work supervision.
Important goals for a student intern are to gain valuable work experience, be exposed to business / work processes, apply theoretical knowledge in a practical environment, be a part of a team, work on an actual assignment (under supervision if necessary) and offer the intern a chance to create long term work related relationships.
Please do not hesitate to contact us to further explore matching your internship opportunities to capable UNYT students.
Activities
The UNYT Career Office organizes a variety of activities that will allow you to introduce your company or organization to our students face-to-face:
• FORUM: introduce your company or institution to our students through a presentation or guest lecture encompassing various fields of e.g. how your business is run, how you compete with local or international institutions etc., concluded with a Q & A session. This activity may also be extended with an on-campus recruitment activity;
• Guest lectures or workshops (e.g. on team-building, leadership, project management, soft skills development, case study exploring a current business or organizational dilemma that you are facing) organized and contributed by your company, hosted in one of the academic courses or as a separate Career Office event at UNYT;
• The annual on-campus Job Fair. This year’s event is scheduled for April 23, 2009 and provides you with the opportunity to introduce your company in a business setting, market your job vacancies, and recruit graduating UNYT talent on- campus. Registration deadline: April 9, 2009
Interested in participating? Please contact the Career Office directly by sending an e-mail to Mrs. Elona Garo at career@unyt.edu.al or by contacting us by phone +355 (4) 227 3056 / ext. 124;
• Internship Program - student mock-interviews, with corporate HR managers to train student interview skills. The internship program integrates regular on-going formal learning activities with related work experience during the normal semester period. Please let us know if you wish to participate in this program and would like to benefit from meeting graduating talent on the spot.
