To help students write clear and effective
essays and research papers by developing specific
skills for all stages of the writing process.

To familiarize students with basic research
skills and practice using these skills.

To sharpen students critical thinking skills
in order to analyze the arguments of others and to
develop and support their own arguments.

To provide exposure to various writing styles
by reading texts from different disciplines.

To review and practice the skills acquired
in Composition 1, including sentences and paragraph
writing skills, and the use of various pattern of
rhetorical organization.

Assigned
essays written outside of class must be word-processed,
using 12-point font and double-spaced. Handwritten
papers will not be accepted.
Students
must complete all assignments even if they are absent
from class
Cheating
and/or plagiarism on any assignment is unacceptable
and will result in a failing grade.
Late
work may be accepted depending on the circumstances
of the individual, but such work will be penalized
with a reduced grade.
CLASS
RULES & ATTENDANCE POLICY
Class
instruction will be divided into three periods with
10 minutes break given at the end of the first two
periods.
Students
are excepted to be present and on-time for
each of the periods. Late students may be requested
to wait until the beginning of the next period in
order to enter the classroom. Excessive lateness will
effect the attendance grade of students.
Attendance
is very important.
As noted in the University bulletin “students who
are absent more than 20% of the total hours of each
semester may be required to withdraw from the course”.
