Profile
Antonela has been an instructor of English at UNYT since 2003. She has taught academic writing courses, as well as ESL classes at beginner, advanced, and academic levels. Her research interests are in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT), and include the use of effective communicative teaching methods, academic writing, task-based learning, motivational strategies, and learner autonomy.
Antonela has extensive experience in her field. Part of her work accomplishments include acting as a data coordinator in a baseline study commissioned by the British Council, which focused on English language teaching and learning in state primary and secondary schools throughout Albania. In her first Regional ELTA Conference (June 2004), she directed a workshop on Effective Writing Tasks in the EFL Classroom, and in April 2006, she presented a study with Beth Onyenwoke on How Prepared Are Albanian State High School Students for Academic Writing. Prior to this, Antonela was involved in another study as an evaluator of English textbooks used in senior secondary schools in the Korça region and of resources used by learners in and out of the classroom.
Antonela received her B.A. in 2001 from F. S. Noli University, Korçë, Albania, where she majored in English Language Teaching. Her M.A. is in English Language Studies and Methods from Warwick University, UK, a program that she attended on a scholarship from the British Council in Tirana.
