The University of New York Tirana, was established in the Spring 2002, and received the License from the Albanian Government with the decree No. 397, August 15, 2002.
This license was extended to new disciplines with the decree N. 518, August 20th, 2003, issued by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Albania. |

The UNYT is developing programs and courses in collaboration with the State University of New York/ Empire State College (SUNY - Empire State College) [http://www.esc.edu/esconline/online2.nsf/html/tirana.html] in the USA, accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education [http://www.msche.org] together with New York College in Athens, Greece, New York College in Thessalonica, Greece, and University of New York in Prague, Czech Republic.
The
programs offered at UNYT are organized, validated and supervised by the State University of New York / Empire State College, and the degree is awarded to the students who successfully complete their degree requirements through studying with Empire State College.
Minimally, students must successfully complete 32 credits with Empire State College.
